Caffè Platti is an historical place, both for Turin people and those who wish to enjoy the best flavours and tastes from Piedmont region.
Platti has grown as part of the Italian history, from the miracle of the Unity of Italy - driven mainly by the Savoy capital city - to the dramatic World Wars, from industrial boom during the 50s to the rebirth of Turin as a truly modern and touristic European city. The Juventus Football Club was born just across the road, in its rooms many men of letters, statesmen and entrepreneurs - as Luigi Lavazza, Luigi Einaudi and Senator Agnelli - have chatted and discussed, and even today you may see here intellighentia representatives such as artist Ugo Nespolo or comedian Piero Chiambretti.
Many things have changed from 1875, year of the opening as Liquoreria Platti, and thanks to recent restorations, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II premises have been brought back to the original magnificence of the late XIXth Century, mixing the atmosphere of stylish Savoy elegance with cutting edge architectural solutions to cater for safety, accessibility and comfort.
